As a pre-teen, I picked up Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and quickly became obsessed. Fortunately for everyone, instead of sending me on a path of medical hubris, it sparked a voracious interest in history. While I grew up thinking I would get a doctorate and become a professor in history, I realized in undergrad that I loved museum work and its unique space for history education.
Professional Philosophy
History should be made accessible to everyone. This means free circulation of information, but also much more–I believe that most people have an interest in history, but oftentimes it is packaged in a way that makes it difficult or simply uninteresting to engage with. It is the job of a public historian to work with people, engage with their interests and backgrounds, and create a space of mutual learning.

My belief in information access extends here too! Using an open source program gives me more freedom, as well as a space to hone my html and css skills. This is a living webpage that will grow as I do.
